The day started with a bang, literally, when Kendall found herself on her knees as she was tripped going around the first bend in the 800 metres. After picking herself up Kendall remained composed as she ran a tactical race, gradually overtaking those in front…her second place was an absolute credit to her determination. Jack also raced 800metres and came third after finally finding a gap to sneak past a group that had managed to keep him at bay for some distance.
Our four relay teams were next to compete in their heats and they all progressed to their finals. The 60, 80 and 100 metre heats along with the range of field events followed. All the children represented us proudly, many of them gaining places in their events. Altogether our 26 children received 24 1st place,13 2nd place and 2 3rd place certificates in the heats.
The following children earned places in finals.
